North Eastman Health Association (NEHA) Chief Executive Officer Jim Hayes has resigned, the regional health authority announced on Wednesday. In a statement, NEHA board chair Margaret Mills says Hayes will be leaving the organization, but did not specify exactly when.

On Wednesday, RCMP recovered a body near the location of a suspected drowning that took place in Otter Falls over the weekend. It is presumed to be the body of the man who was reported drowned earlier this week, but this cannot be confirmed pending positive identification of the deceased.

A fundraiser for the Lac du Bonnet personal care home residents' council will take place Aug. 14. The fundraiser will take the form of a community garage sale, organizer Colette Opper said. Clean garage sale items are needed, with the exception of clothing which will not be accepted.
